Canadian e-Tourism Awards
Hosted by the Canadian e-Tourism Council, these prestigious new awards recognize excellence in website design, online campaigns and innovation for three sectors: public, private and small- and medium-sized enterprise. They also want to recognize travelers by showcasing the best in user-generated content with awards for the best story telling, the best photo, and the best video or short-film.
Entries from around the world will be accepted so long as they feature, market, or sell a Canadian destination, product, attraction, or experience.
Each entry will receive a "Canada Experience Filter" score based on its creativity and innovation in marketing Canadian experiences. The best and brightest will receive their prizes at a unique Awards Show in conjunction with the Canada-e-Connect strategy conference in Vancouver November 7 - 9, 2007.
The Entry Fee is $95, however we are waiving this fee for non-agency companies (including hotels, airlines, tourism suppliers, media, travellers, etc.)
Yahoo! has agreed to support the Awards by enabling the Canadian and International public to vote online for their favorite Canadian travel websites and campaigns. This public input will figure importantly in the e-Tourism Council's selection of the best overall campaign, to which Yahoo! Canada will also award the Yahoo! Big Idea Chair, recognized worldwide as a hallmark for exceptional achievement in online marketing creativity.
According to Hunter Madsen, Marketing Director of Yahoo! Canada: "Yahoo! Canada is always looking to encourage the craft of marketing online in Canada, and we have a particular focus on the travel industry. So we are delighted and proud to serve as a prime sponsor for the 1st Annual Canadian e-Tourism Awards, recognizing excellence in online marketing on behalf of Canada."
Note: This is not a Canadian Tourism Commission awards competition.
